What do you see as your spiritual gift(s)?
Please tell us! Did it surprise you?

When I told the Spiritual [Motivational] Gifts test that we handed out on Sunday, I was not surprised when my top gifts tied were Prophesy (proclaiming God's word) and Teaching. (Administration was then my third). That answer doesn't surprise me at all.

I have the gift of encouragement. I have taken that test many times and this is always at the top.

What do you see as your spiritual gift(s)?
Please tell us! Did it surprise you? The last time I took a spiritual gifts test, I was office manager at the church I attended, and I also taught third-grade Sunday School. The two lowest rated of my gifts were...you guessed it: Admin and Teaching. This test, however, resulted in the top two being, yep, Admin and Teaching. Go figure.
Anyone who's been around me in the past when these kind of tests are administered knows that they make me crazy. I used to study over which answer to check. When I was through with one of the personality tests, I felt like there should be another category just for me; i.e., psychotic. This time, I breezed through the test quickly, using my first instinct and not changing the answers.
However, I still dislike taking the tests

Rejeana, your answer made me smile. I fully understand your frustration with these types of tests. It doesn't surprise me at all that your gifts are Admin and Teaching. I hope you see joy when you look back and see how you have used these gifts for ministry!

My spiritual gifts were most strongly Wisdom and then Teaching. My third is Administration, but it is not high as the other two.

Well, I wasn't in the service on Sunday (so I don't know the ones listed on your test), but I'm good at overseeing and organizing (would that be administration?). I'm good at teaching also, but not particularly fond of it... but I do like teaching my own children:-D When I've taken the test before, I remember getting high scores in Wisdom.

Rejeana, I knew there were a million reasons why you're a good mentor for me. My top two: Teaching and Administration... though I desperately dislike administration and LOVE teaching! When I think of the jobs, ministries and other roles I've enjoyed most, they've all had to do with either teaching or administration.

The best spiritual gifts info I have ever seen is a book called Discover Your God-Given gifts. Cleone turned me on to it and I've learned a lot from getting my own copy and going through it. Because the word "prophecy" can be confusing and sometime ominous, they use the word "perceiver" instead and that's my main gift, going hand in hand with discernment. The main role of a perceiver would be prayer, but I'm nowhere near where I should be for that! Teaching comes up for me, too, but it's not as natural; I have to work at it.
